FOUNDER & CHIEF CURATOR
IT ALL STARTED WHEN…
Chris R. Hairston-White, Founder & Chief Curator of Flora & Finch, was raised and nurtured in Charles City County, Virginia. Her imagination and curiosity were just as expansive as the acreage of her family’s homestead. Growing up in rural Virginia gave space for her creativity to be encouraged by her loving family. It was the guidance of her parents and faith in God that lead her on a journey towards her passion - creating!
After graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia with a B.S. in Business Marketing, Chris launched into her marketing career as an Account Executive with Clear Channel Communication’s WRVA AM News Talk and its affiliated radio stations. Her sales and marketing experience attracted the financial industry where she spent over a decade climbing the corporate ladder ending her banking career as a Business Relationship Manager with Wells Fargo. Her next stop at Better Housing Coalition as Vice President of External Affairs gave her an opportunity to leverage her skills in the non-profit sector. She then took a deep breath and leaped into her next adventure. . . Flora & Finch!
Living a purpose driven life has always been in the forefront of Chris’ personal ideals. "From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded" (Luke 12:48) orders her daily walk. Beyond her work at a non-profit affordable housing organization, Chris volunteers with ART180, Visual Arts Center of Richmond, SisterFund, Leadership Metro Richmond, and BonSecours Mercy Health System Richmond. Her past service included First Contractors, Commercial Real Estate Women Richmond, and Virginia Tourism Corporation.
Flora & Finch combines all of Chris’ experiences and passions; Art, Business, Home, Shopping and Creating! It’s her vision to provide a convenient platform that showcases the talents and treasures of Virginia to the world. Buying from Flora & Finch supports the artists livelihood, our local economy, and encourages people to explore our beautiful Virginia. We hope you will come back often to enjoy our evolving, curated collection, stories, and journey. Grab a glass of wine, sit a spell, and support local!
WHEN SHE’S NOT CREATING…
Chris enjoys pouring into her two daughters, Kameron & Kirsten, and husband Dwayne.
